Shiatsu PractitionerMy name is Audrey M'Lean-Roberts. After the usual lengthy 4 year training in London I qualified as a Professional Remedial Shiatsu practitioner in 2004. I returned to Ireland 2012 after having ran a successful private practice in London together while providing Shiatsu at some of the world's largest banks on Canary Wharf with some of the world's high fliers, Shiatsu at my private clinics at some of the most prestigious hotels and doing some teaching. During my time studying Shiatsu, I qualified in sports massage and Reflexology to finance my studies. While these have been welcome additions my first love is and continues to be Shiatsu. Shiatsu is a tad unknown in Ireland. It is NOT a form of massage. Shiatsu can be described as a mix of oriental osteopathy, acupuncture without needles and oriental physiotherapy. It is diagnostic, extensive it's holistic philosophy, taking into account the physical, emotional and psychological setting & disposition of the I individual. Therefore it can help with a wide range of issues. It's basis is in Chinese traditional medicine. It is not only a recognised therapeutic practice in Japan where it hails from and used their hospitals. It is recognised in a number of countries in the world and has recently gained a legal status in the UK on a par with other legally recognised therapies. It can help. So it can be soothing, deeply relaxing, sometimes a wee bit painful but most importantly it can help you.
